Investing in Time

Hey y'all,

One thing that I always said once I got a "real job" I would invest in a nice watch. I think a watch is neccessary even if you have a clock on your computer or are glued to your phone. I really didn't get attached to wearing a watch until college and that began with working a sales position and never knowing the time as well as sometimes picking the seat in a classroom where the clock was completely behind me.So I have survived on the watches I bought at Target and a really nice Anne Klein bracelet watch that I love but keep forgetting to take to the store to have it's battery replaced. I have really been thinking of this as an investment piece for my closet. Something I would wear daily and therefore the splurge is justified since I want a nice quality piece. I think this will be my last splurge for a while after Easter since I am still saving for a car this summer!!!!

I have really been loving the idea of a two-tone watch since I have begun wearing both silver and gold. My Anne Klein watch is silver and mother of pearl so I still can't decided to go with just gold or a mixture? Do you have a nice watch? Color? Brand? Thoughts?

Peace and Blessings,
jDl

  1. I'm in the process of picking a new watch, too! I have a tortoise shell watch, so I think I want something gold. There are so many choices!!

  2. I have a solid silver michael Kors. I love it. I don't really wear gold so I don't have the problem of mismatching.

  3. Hey Girl,

I have an "adult" watch and I wear it every day to work and it ends up in my purse by the end of they day because of the weight of the watch. I am on the computer 90% of my day and a lot of typing is a pain with it on, especially making changes to spread sheets. I have a white ceramic watch and it weights a ton. I wish that I thought about the weight before I made the purchase, but I get compliments on it all the time so its an even trade I guess. :)

    Love you Blog!

  4. I am in the same boat as you. I need more of an adult watch to wear to school all day because I can't be whipping my cellphone out all the time like I used to in college! Ha ha. Good luck with your decision.

  6. I have one from the church book store that has crosses as some of the numbers. It's light weight and has lasted me a while. :)

  8. I have the Michael Kors 'Runway' Chronograph watch in silver and I love it. I wear it every day and both the weight and look of it are perfect. My other pick would definitely be the Kate Spade Granercy watch!

  9. I've been thinking about getting a new watch too! I have a nice Skagen that I really like, but the band (leather) is wearing out. I like the over-sized boyfriend watches, but I don't want to invest in a trend. I love the simplicity of this Kate Spade watch, http://www.katespade.com/cooper-strap/1YRU0044,default,pd.html?dwvar_1YRU0044_color=742&start=70&cgid=watches. Can't wait to see what you choose!
