Top 5 Tuesday {Top Netflix Binge TV Shows}

Hey y'all,

I am so excited for this week's Top 5 Tuesday theme. I remember my very first binge TV watching experience was Grey's Anatomy back in December of 2007. I had just gotten into watching Grey's and so I binged on seasons 1 and 2 over two days during winter break with a friends DVDs. Thanks to Netflix and Hulu I have lots of opportunities to binge on TV shows especially during the winter when no one wants to go outside.

House of Cards. I started this show after a lot of friends recommended it to me based on my love of Scandal. I think that Kevin Spacey does a phenomenal job playing Frank Underwood but the show does wonder about Congress and I think I would lose some faith in our government if any of it was actually real. I am not big into politics if you are worried about that aspect don't be, most of the show is trying to figure out how all the chess pieces are in play and moving. Season 2 has had so many crazy moments and I am trying to make it last so I still have about 3 episodes since it came out on Valentine's Day.

Greek. ABC Family produced this gem during my high school and early college days. I loved Casey and Cappie together and it was a nice show although not representative of greek life completely. I mean, Casey taking Rebecca as her little out of spite is not very sisterly. I mean I love my littles! It is a fun show to watch especially during the summer.

Gilmore Girls. I might have the entire series of Gilmore Girls on DVD and have watched them all in order a few times. I mean, who didn't love Lorelei and Rory. I also back in High School loved that ABC Family would re-run the episodes whenever I came home from school. I must say though, the last season is not my favorite and I will always be a Jess fan over Logan.

Say Yes to the Dress. I think we all need to watch some fluff every now and then and I love watching all of the SYTTD shows whether Kleinfeld's or Bridals by Lori this is the perfect show to put on and clean your room to or spend a Friday night eating ice cream with your friends and discussing your perfect dream wedding even if you have no Mr. in sight.

The Tudors. I have always loved English History and when HBO started the Tudors I knew I had to watch it. I loved the show and yes it can have its graphic moments but I love all the costuming and getting out of our modern world for an hour or two. I think this is also why I love Reign on the CW even though it is not the most accurate of shows.

Lost Girl. #6 but I stumbled upon this show over Christmas and became obsessed. I watched all three seasons on Netflix pretty quickly. The fourth season is currently airing in Canada and on Syfy so I am trying to wait patiently but that really means I have been buying episodes on iTunes. The show is about a succubus named Beau and her journey of finding her self and navigating the fey world. There are a lot of paranormal creatures which is interesting but like the Tudors there are some more graphic bits and she is a succubi so just to warn you.

Other shows I love: Gossip Girl, Better Off Ted, Switched at Birth, Sherlock and Scrubs.

WILW & OHP: July 10

Hey y'all,

The whole day off in the middle of the week last week has thrown me completely off. So, today is Wednesday and I will hopefully be back to the swing of blogging. This week I am loving....

...Despicable Me 2. On the 4th, I spent time with friends going to see it and then a fun cookout. It was the perfect way to spend the day (I even got to sleep in).

If you love Minions I think you should read this Buzz Feed article on 15 Reasons We Wish We Had Minions. Or this pin that helps showcase the various Minions.

So now you all know that I love Despicable Me/Minions and yes I am excited that next December the Minion movie comes out!

...I have another planner now in the mix for decisions. I found the 2013 & 2014 Planners by PlumPaperDesigns and I think I will end up with them in the great Lilly/Erin Condren planner debate. The Plum Paper planners have the option of format similar to the EC Life Planner but they have lines! I am one of those people who loves to write on the line. They are also personalized and only $30! Less than the Luxe Lilly I was eyeing or the Life Planner.

...the countdown to move in day is 24 days! I am still slowly packing but I visit my parent's next weekend to grab some more boxes (and see Max the cat) and really get in packing mode. It is so strange to think that I move so soon!

...speaking of packing, I have been watching my Gilmore Girls season DVDs and I am almost done with season 5! I really hope I can stretch them to move in day but they are great to put on and watch while cleaning/packing. I just finished the episode where Luke & Lorelei break up and the ribbons are around the town. It is also Logan time now which I don't love.

...making my Christmas list. Y'all might think it is strange, but when you have relatives on both coasts, you get used to making your Christmas list early so that it can be sent to them and the gifts shipped. We used to draw names in July so I am used to having the list made by August. I will share the list soon!

...reading. I am back on the reading bug bad, and good considering according to Goodreads with my goal of 113 books I am about 8 books behind. However, thanks to NetGalley I have found some really great books and so far this week I have already read two books and I am half way done with two others!

...If you didn't watch Jami's episode of Extreme Weight Loss last night I highly recommend it! Jami's story had me crying and I recently found that she started a blog.

Weekend Update

Hey y'all,

Work has been pretty busy and all of those projects plus Vacation Bible School every night this week means I am going to go ahead and not promise lots of blogging. So, here is a mini update of my weekend.

Friday
Friday after work I headed to the grocery store to pick up some lettuce for salads and guacamole and came out with that and 3 pints of Hagan Daas (they were on sale). After unloading the groceries, having chips and guac and watching a few episodes of Gilmore Girls I began reading The Elite (The Selection Book 2). I was supposed to go to see Monsters University with my small group leader but her showing sold out before I had a chance to grab a ticket. So then around 8:30 I got a text from RH asking if I wanted to grab some fro-yo to celebrate the start of summer which I of course said yes to so we went to YOPO and talked for a few hours before saying goodbye since we were having to get up early in the morning for our 5k!

Saturday
Saturday morning began at 7am getting ready and heading to Raleigh with RH for the Color Vibe 5k! We thought the race began at 9 but it was 9:30 so we hung out and decided to throw our color before the race. We were in the second heat and ended up finishing around 45mins. I thought that wasn't bad since the race was on an equestrian farm so there were a lot of rocky path/hill things. After that we went to the photo-booth and headed to Taco Bell to celebrate. Yes, the guy at the drive through thought we were kind of crazy.
Before the race
All Finished
I got home, showered (it all came out), read and then it was time for my preschoolers at church and church service (and I am much happier since they brought back the middle screen). I was pretty wiped after the long day so after church I went home and walked for 2 miles then went to bed.
Sunday
Sunday morning I finished the Elite, went to babysit like usual and then came home to cook meals for the week, watch the beginnings of Season 4 of Gilmore Girls and then hit the elliptical for 3 miles before going to bed.

What did you do this weekend?
