Literary Junkies LinkUp

Hey y'all,
Tonight I am linking up for a few questions about books from the Literary Junkies LinkUp. If you know me, you could of course label me as a Literary Junkie. Let's dive right in....

1. Which book could you read over and over again?
Hands down Ella Enchanted, Cinderella 2000 and Pride & Prejudice are my most re-read books. I don't tend to re-read books unless they are part of a series and it has been awhile since I last read part of the books and need a re-fresher. The last book I reread was on New Year's Day I reread Born of Ice since I was starting back with the two newest books.

2.If you could be any character from any book you've read, who would you be?
Elizabeth Bennet would be nice, I mean who wouldn't want to end up with Mr. Darcy at the end of the story. Hello, Pemberly, amazingly sweet letters, hero, and who is saying no to Matthew MacFadyen or Collin Firth?
An Austenite's dream
Hello
3.Do you ever put a book down because you just can't get into it? Or do you stick it out to the bitter end? Any examples?
Yes, all the time. I have a rule that by page 75 if I am not captivated I can put it down. It happens a decent amount of time but after pg 75 I try to get to the bitter end. Also, if I went out and payed for it I am more likely to suffer through the book. I can't think of any examples off of the top of my head but there have been quiet a few books that find themselves back at the library after a few hours.

4. Show us your book shelves!Do you have one designated spot for your books in your house or do you scatter them around?
Mine are contained within my two bookshelves unless they are in my nightstand/purse. Other than that I have a pile on my endtable of books from the library but that is all.

Sunday Social {5} and Sayings

Hey y'all,

It's the time of the week for the Sunday Social link-up followed by some inspirational Sunday Sayings. This week Sunday Social is focused on the wonder of television. Confession: I am a total TV addict. Here is a list of the shows that I currently watch (not just summer but over the past year):

  • True Blood
  • Downton Abbey
  • Breaking Pointe
  • Private Practice
  • Suits
  • Scandal
  • Castle
  • Bones
  • Cougar Town
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Modern Family
  • Switched at Birth
  • Dance Moms
  • Necessary Roughness
  • Suburgatory
  • Once Upon A Time
  • Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team
  • New Girl
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Say Yes to the Dress(all of them except for Big Bliss, it's not the same sass as the others)
  • What Not to Wear
  • Hart of Dixie
  • Gossip Girl
  • GCB(so sad this is cancelled)
  • The Chew
And of course lots of random HGTV, Food Network, Disney Channel/Nickelodeon, and TLC of course. So as you can see I love to watch TV and Hulu is one way that I am able to get my fix. I am sure I missed shows, but those were the ones I could think of off the top of my head. Now onto the difficult questions.

Sunday Social

Favorite TV show of the past?
This one is hard. While I loved Charmed, Buffy, Friends, Alias, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Greek,  ER, Will and Grace, 7th Heaven, All That, and many more. My favorite that I can watch any episode over and over again would have to be....GILMORE GIRLS!

I love the story of Lorelei and Rory and I even have the entire series on DVD so when I need a good pick me up I throw on a few episodes.
My all time favorite episode would be the opening of season three, its the one where Lorelei wakes up from the dream that she was pregnant with Luke's twins. And yes, I am not a Logan/Rory fan after his family drama but Luke and Lorelei were meant to be.

Favorite TV show currently?
This is really tough. My top 3 new favorite shows would have to be:
Matthew Crawley & Lady Mary
1. Downton Abbey. If you love period dramas you really need to watch this show. I got my mom hooked and my daddy even watched it with her. I am just upset it will take forever until season 3 makes its way over here to PBS. 2013 can't come fast enough.

2. Scandal. I was apprehensive at first but I love the show about uncovering the truth while simultaneously hiding the truth from others. It's an interesting show and I love how it always keeps you guessing about Olivia Pope and the President. WHO KNOWS!!!!

3.  A tie between Hart of Dixie and Once Upon a Time. I love the southern tale of Hart of Dixie since I know individuals like Lemon Breeland. It also shows a lot of complications in choosing the hometown you love or the big city and the advantages and disadvantages of both. Plus I love the fashion. And with Once Upon a Time, I am a hug lover of fairy tales, Hello Disney Diva right here! The depth behind the stories and the possibilities of magic in this world is a great concept.
Favorite Show I have been watching for a while?
Castle & Beckett

Castle and Vampire Diaries both ended their seasons with huge questions asked and answered so I would have to go with those two.

Which Reality Show would you NEVER do?
Hmmm. I am not a huge reality fan. Like despise the majority of them. So probably something with little point like Big Brother, Jersey Shore, Glass House, Fear Factor,The Real World, any survival show, or any dating show, etc. I promise you with all the TV scripted dramas I watch reality TV is not my thing.

Which Reality Show would you LOVE to do?
I would probably never go on a reality show. It is just not my personality. I think the only one I would probably go on is Say Yes to the Dress (Kleinfelds or Bridals by Lori) or What Not to Wear. And if I could still dance either Breaking Pointe or So You Think You Can Dance.

TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?
I love Charlotte from Sex and the City but I don't think I am completely like her. I feel that I am probably a Rory Gilmore minus all the boy drama and the crazy love of music. I love to read, am really close with my Mom. But who knows, this is a great question to ask my friends to figure out. I also love Casey Cartwright from Greek and I feel that we have some similarities but her greek experience (intense) and all that grad school drama are not part of my life.

TV character you'd want to date?
Hmmm. I love a guy who can make me laugh and is witty so I will have to go with one of the following. All great characters who would be lots of fun and filled with intelligent conversations.

Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds

Richard Castle from Castle

Shawn Spencer from Psych

George Tucker from Hart of Dixie
