HAPPY WEDDING DAY L&C!

Hey y'all,

Today is a big day! The first of my really close friends is getting married! I met Laura through Phi Beta Chi and we were both in the Sigma AM class (pledge class). I am so blessed that we were put in that class together since then were we both English majors and had a few classes discussing Brit Lit together, suffered through CHEM 101 together, discussed the problems of Pre-Cal & French classes, giggled over VeggieTales (she's Larry and I'm Bob) and spent so many hours catching up at McAllister's discussing life, boys, faith and books.
This girl is so special and I am so happy for her and C. They are so perfect together and I know the Lord brought them together to support and love one another. I mean, if you look at their engagement photos from Emily March Photography you can tell they are such a happy couple just from their smiles. I am sad that this union means Laura will be moving far away for a while but I know that they are meant to be. Let's bring on a wonderful wedding celebrating their love!
BEST WISHES TO THE FUTURE MRS.

30 days of thanks {rHm aka the roomie}

Hey y'all,

So today's 30 days of thanks goes to the girl that makes sure I am alive daily, eats all of my crazy recipes, inspires me to be healthy, will dance with me in the living room, understands Scandal, Reign, Alias, and Gilmore Girls are all great shows, is the only one who makes cooked spinach that I will eat, and so much more, yep I'm talking about my fabulous roommate rHm!

rHm and I met way back in the fall of our first year of college in Art History class aka "Art in the Dark." Our friendship continued when she was the suitemate of one of my friends, rMc and in Spring 2010 we became sorority sisters! When we were at our last alumni event in the spring we were both talking about looking for places to live and people to live with since I was living alone and hating it and she was living with some people but it wasn't the best situation. I know God placed us in each other's lives since we are so similar and great friends and roomies.

rHm is a great church buddy, a running motivator, a great confidante, a good ear for all kinds of rants especially about stupid boys, a country music lover,  the person who understands all my funny faces and so much more. I wish I could explain all of my thanks for having this friend as my roommate when I come home after a long day she is there to listen, help me to have fun and even if it is just running to the grocery store we have so much fun!

What are you thankful for?

30 days of Thanks x3 {Fall Foliage,Small Group, & Phi Beta Chi}

Hey y'all,

So I am doing one large post of 30 Days of Thanks since Monday and Tuesday went by so quickly! I am so grateful for Ryann to have created this idea since I try really hard to be grateful especially in prayer and sometimes when you get started your list goes on forever.

On UNC's campus near my office
Day 4
Fall Foliage

I guess this could be called being thankful for living in North Carolina but I am thankful for the change in season. Fall is a time of beauty and I love strolling around campus or taking a drive to see all the changing leaves. The colors that occur naturally are gorgeous and a reminder that while the plants are slowly dying off they produce some of the most beautiful moments. I know that sounds really weird but I would be so sad if I lived in a place where there was no distinct change in the leaves. I mean who doesn't love tossing leaves in the air or jumping on a pile of them, or just crunching leaves under your riding boots.

Day 5
Small Group

I am part of a women's small group through my church and I love all the girls. While I loved my previous group in the Spring that included one of my sorority sisters this group is a multi-generational group which includes a lot of various perspectives. Sometimes on Mondays after work I would rather put on my pjs but every time I leave small group I feel so refreshed and blessed and know that it is a great place of renewal and learning. Plus, we are having a movie night with Carolina style BBQ next week so really what is not to love?

Day 6
Phi Beta Chi

There really are not enough words to describe how thankful I am for PBX over the past 5+ years. I have grown so much in my faith and gained hundreds of friends I call my sisters. I am blessed to be one of the advisers this year so to continue to watch my chapter grow is one of the best feelings. I can say that PBX helped me to my current job through teaching me that I love service as well as providing me with the opportunity to take on two leadership roles. I am thankful for all those I have met through PBX and all the sisters that are forever friends especially the ones that have made the transition to the real world smoothly!

What are you thankful for?

Sister, Sister

Hey y'all,

This past week has been very exciting and therefore, blogging has been at the bottom of the to-do list. But some of the most exciting things this week involved family. I learned that my favorite cousin and her husband are expecting! I can't wait to go shopping for her and the little one in the coming months, to bad we are going to have to wait until Spring to see the little guy or gal. Apart from that great news I spent the weekend with my parents in celebration of my father's birthday! I will not reveal his age but I am so proud and glad that I was blessed with him as a father.
Daddy at my graduation in May rocking UNC even though he's a UMD Terrapin.
And another exciting thing to happen this past week was BID DAY! Phi Beta Chi's Kappa Chapter welcomed some adorable little lambs and I can't wait to meet all of them especially since one of them will join my family as my great-grandlittle.

My adorable glittle and little in the plane since it was a flying theme.
Now speaking of sisterhood, I have been loving finding my sorority sister's blogs! It is so great to see what is happening in their lives on a daily basis so I figured I would share them with you!

Christina's style blog Style Storm perfectly describes her. Christina is so sweet and I'm so excited to share her blog especially since we were Associate Members together. I miss her dearly now that she no longer lives in the state of NC but I was blessed to see her a few times my Senior year and hopefully I will be able to visit her in the future.
The beautiful Christina! This is from her photo shoot with Nikki Lugo and you can read more about her style and outfit HERE
Whitney. Although Whitney graduated before I became a member of PBX I did meet her through older sisters and Alumni events. I am so excited to hear all about her upcoming wedding and all the other exciting happenings and crafts she gets up to through her beautiful blog, Blessed Southern Tarheel.
The beautiful Whitney!
Caitlin. Caitlin is seriously one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and I am very blessed to have her as a sister and a role model as she was even the President of PBX when I was a member! Her beautiful blog, Catholic Cookie Jar discusses a lot about love, relationships, and faith especially through her own relationship with her husband Thomas. It is a great read no matter your marital status and together they are a strong couple in their faith and love for one another.
Caitlin and her husband, Thomas. I still can't believe that they have been married for over a year now.
McKenzie & Brian. McKenzie, a sweet sister writes about her and her husband's adventures especially since they are moving across the ocean to Japan. Their relationship is similar to Caitlin and Thomas, built on faith and love and such an example. I await more updates on their life as a military couple surviving the big adventure in a foreign country.
McKenzie and Brian are bound for Japan!

Travis. Travis, another sweet sister (let's agree that all of my sorority sisters are sweet!) has just begun to blog about finding the little moments in life at The Little Moments, finding the beauty in the uncertainty. As a SENIOR this year at UNC I understand the need to capture the small little moments of beauty.  I can't wait to read more about her adventures as a senior and beyond since I know she will be successful post-grad.
Travis

I hope you find some great reads on my sorority sister's blogs!

Happy Birthday, Big S!

sCa & jDl
Hey y'all,

I know I haven't been posting a lot this week but I promise that more posts are on the way but before that, another fam member is another year older. I think all of my close friends purposely have their birthdays together so that I have to always to buy gifts all at once. Anywho, today is the birthday of the one and only, sCa, who also goes by the name of my BIG SIS! I was so excited when I learned on the day of Big/Little reveal that my end of the string did not in fact end up with pSs who I thought was my Big all week thanks to some sneaky clues but rather sSa! Now four years later I could not think of the more perfect Big and even though we haven't seen each other in almost a year, S is one of my closet friends and most precious relationships thanks to Phi Beta Chi.
