Wednesday Wishing {Lilly for Target}

Hey y'all,

I'm sure most of you are just recovering from the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale but there is some even more exciting news. Lilly Pulitzer is teaming up with everyone's favorite super store, Target, this spring to create fifteen exclusive prints by Lilly Pulitzer artists. The collection will be available in stores and online beginning April 19th. The 250 piece collection includes apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls as well as home decor, outdoor entertainment accessories, travel essentials, and more. This seems like the best way to kick off spring and summer!
According to Refinery29's article on the collaboration, all of the items will be more Target price friendly as well! Items will range from $2-150. So for those of you like myself who are budget Lilly lovers get ready! Time to start saving for April!

#BuyMeLilly

Hey y'all,

For those of you who woke up early, or took a quick work break at 8am I want to know what you snagged at Lilly's After Party Sale. I am so pleased that the site worked out so well. Yes, there was a snag when they loaded the site but I looked around and took my time and still checked out twice all before 8:30am. I knew going in that I only wanted a few more Murfee scarves since the one I got last year is my go to scarf to brighten up a rainy day and I receive so many compliments on it. I was a little disappointed in so many scarves being over $40 but I ended up with these two items:

Lulu Murfee Scarf for $29
Jellies Be Jammin for $54
I love the Southern Charm pattern as well but I have a lot of pink and green going on in my scarf collection so I wanted to add ones with more colors.

What did you snag?

What Happened in April

Hey y'all,

I thought I would share a few things that happened in April since I have been pretty MIA over here. Also, beware that this is not in any particular order time-wise. Enjoy a peek into my crazy life.

I ran a 5K for Girls on the Run. Yes, as you can see it was actually 3.47 miles instead of 3.1 so it was a tough course on a particularly sunny day. I kept under a 12 min pace though and considering my training was all over and it was very hilly I am proud of that.

Tried on bridesmaid dresses for Jenn's wedding in August! No this is not the dress, I will reveal that later in the summer.

I attended my sorority's Formal. It was at a local country club. It was fun getting all dressed up for a nice dinner and yes, I bowed out of the dancing portion. I mean, who wants to dance with their advisor? I did receive a beautiful bouquet from the girls as a thank you. I am so blessed to serve with them and see the sisterhood grow!
At Formal with my Grandlittle, kBm!

I made the best barbeque thanks to Skinnytaste.com. You can find the recipe here along with the recipe for the BBQ sauce.
Yes, more bridesmaid dress trips. This is not the one either but it is similar. I must say it is hard trying on dresses without the bride since she is out of state but lots of pictures where texted and a bit of Facetime helped.
My grandlittle, kBm is now an alum member too!
This past Wednesday was Senior Chapter and a great group of young women transitioned from active members to alumnae. Their words of advice to the current actives was wonderful and I agreed. It goes by fast but PBX is Your's For A Lifetime!

Also, last week I received a copy of Lilly thanks to Turner Publishing. I am so excited to learn more about the woman behind the iconic fashion brand. I started this Thursday evening and was very engrossed for the 30 minutes I read. Now I just need to find time this weekend to knock it out.

What have you been up to this month?

*Also I cut my hair short this weekend! Please excuse the bad selfie!

Off to the Races

Hey y'all,

Today marks the 82nd Carolina Cup races! While I am not off enjoying people watching and betting on horses I thought it would still be fun to make a few outfits that I would wear since I know there are plenty more races at Keeneland, Foxfield and Churchhill Downs this season.

As far as dressing for the event a lot of girls automatically look at Lilly. While I love Lilly and they make wonderful sundresses for occasions like theses, for this post I decided to go a bit out of the box. I mean, do you really want to be wearing the same dress as 20+ other people? I checked out the Vineyard Vines' Kentucky Derby Collection as well as Belk (and found some cute ones for under $100). Remember to find a dress you are comfortable in and is your personality. Do not shy away from color or pattern and have fun, but remember you are will be outside all day as well! Here are some of my favorites:

Now that you have found the perfect dress, it is time for accessories. Since today is pretty rainy and gloomy, I thought I would go with some practical choices. Yes, there are so many sun hats that will be worn but it is okay to go outside the box. You do not have to wear a hat. You could wear a nice big bow or headband, or a baseball cap with the rain. I also added some coats to protect your fine frock you purchased and boots while they might not look the best with your dress are practical if the fields are wet and muddy. I mean do you want your jacks covered in dirt? I do not recommend heels for the event ever since you are going to be doing a lot of standing and walking.

Did I forget anything?

Age of Aquarius

via
Hey y'all,

Today starts the time of the Aquarius horoscope, typically I am not into astrology but, Lilly Pulitzer has been making Murfee scarves for each of the signs. Since I am a water-bearer (10 days until I turn 24!) I was really excited to see what Lilly would come up with for my sign...

Aquarius is described as:

Here is the murfee scarf:

I'm not in love with it. Typically Aquarius is shown as waves or a person holding a jug of water but this was very mermaid focused. Nothing against mermaids, they were just not what I was expecting for my sign. The first image in this post was a Lilly 5x5 from Pinterest and I thought that would be more inline with the Murfee. Maybe I will love it when I see it in person but for now I think I will pass.

However, this bangle from C.Wonder might fill my Aquarius fix:

Thoughts? Have you seen the Horoscope Murfees?

Weekend Shenanigans.

Hi y'all,

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was filled lots of relaxing and cuddling with cats. I promise I am not a crazy cat lady but when your parents let you watch their 5 month old kitten and year and a half year old cat for a week you kind of go crazy since the last time I saw them was for an afternoon back in August.

Anyhoo, let's get this show on the road.

Friday. Friday was my lazy day, I came home, I cuddled with kittens, took a two hour nap and then hung out with the roomie for the rest of the night. I think that is a successful night in.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the farmers market. I didn't pick anything up but the roomie did grab some lavender soap and some kale. After that we decided to hit up Marshall's/TJ Maxx. While we didn't find anything at TJ, we hit up Marshalls and I found some adorable Minetonka slippers for $24.99. I might be bringing them to my office as my desk shoes.

After Marshall's we hit Old Navy and I found a ton of cute tops for work that I am waiting for them to go on sale and then they will be in my closet.

Then it was off to workout where we rescued a giant caterpillar who was on the bricks and moved to leaves.

After that I headed to church to teach Sunday school. The rest of the night I babysat. *I told you it was an uneventful weekend.

Sunday. The cats as usual woke me up at 6:30 but I managed to stay in bed until 8, but this meme is how I feel every morning with these cats.
Then rHm made some yummy pancakes for breakfast before we headed to church.
The rest of the afternoon was cuddling with the cats, running to the grocery store and making dinner. After that I headed to the PBX officer meeting and called it a night.

I hope y'all had some exciting things this weekend but if not here is little Lily wishing you a happy Monday on this dreary day.

Lusting Over Lilly....

Hey y'all,

I don't know about you but Spring and Summer has me wanting to put on a sundress each morning and with the new Lilly Pulitzer collection out for summer I thought I would share some of the items I would love to have in my closet but they are current dreams since my bank account needs some love. However, if you are off to the races or just a Derby themed party this weekend I think these dresses would do the trick. I guess I will just have to wait for the Endless Summer Sale to stock up!

Seeing Stripes

Hey y'all,

Easter has passed and now that I no longer have to carry a coat around I am eyeing spring and summer clothes! I am even headed out to the outlets today so let's hope my wallet survives between LOFT and J.Crew. I am especially looking for some seersucker to add to my closet. It is the perfect fabric for spring and summer and if in a Carolina blue color it doubles as gameday wear. Here are some seersucker options I have found while window shopping:
J.Crew

One-Piece Suit
Sandra Dress
Seersucker String Top
Seersucker Tied Hipster
Mandy Dress
Lilly Pulitzer
Adeline Dress
Buttercup Short
Picture Perfect Wedge
Vineyard Vines
Ruffle Wrap Dress
Seersucker Scallop Hem Margo Skirt
Seersucker Whale Baseball Cap
