Hey y'all,

I love looking at outfit posts for inspiration, but I thought I would start taking a few pics everyday to show you my different outfits and the occasions. I don't have a true full length mirror so for now you are getting headless shots. Sorry! I will try to link similar items if I can't find my exact item but not everything has an equivalent, so I'm sorry ahead of time.

Wishlist Wednesday {September 24} & Humpday {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

It is a rainy day here in the triangle so I thought I should share some of my current rainy day wishlist items along with another installment of my critter couture series. It is Wednesday so of course I am highlighting some items with the lovely camel on them. I mean, who wouldn't love this sweater in the nice chilly days that are coming for fall.

Camel

Camel by postgradprep featuring c wonder jewelry

Other Critter Couture:
elephants
lambs

Since it is a rainy day, I would rather be at home cuddled up in these cute polka dot pjs from Old Navy, wearing nice comfy slippers (I love my Minnetonkas and this pair might need to join the bunch), watching my latest Netflix obsession The Blacklist. I might also need some hot chocolate in these cute mugs from World Market and have y'all tried the White Cheddar Popcorn from Angie's? It is delicious and all the ingredients are normal!!

What are you wishing for this Wednesday? Would you wear camel gear?

Wishlist Wednesday

Hey y'all,

I cannot believe we are already halfway done with the week! Next week, classes start back on campus and I have no idea where the summer went. I hope you have all had a lovely start to your week and are excited for the weekend approaching. Since I am still working on getting back into the blogging world I thought I would just share a few items I am wishing for this week.

Wishlist Wednesday

boots/book/pajamas/pens/top/scarf

Hunter Rain Boots.  While the weather today has been beautiful, the past week or so has seen a lot of storms. I think some plain rain boots would work perfectly for traipsing on campus between the parking deck and my office.

if i stay. The trailer to this movie already has me crying so I think I need to grab the book quickly and read it before hitting the movies next week.

PJ pants. I love my Old Navy pj pants and I think this cute teal and pink seahorse print needs to be added to my collection. I love that the ON pj pants are long enough and I order a large so that they have a nice loose fit.

Sharpie pens. I love this time of year when you hit Target and there are school supplies everywhere. I love these pens to color code my agenda and I am keeping the colors consistent with my old planner but who doesn't love a new pack of pens?

Nike Running Top. I am still in the process of training for a half marathon in October. Luckily, I recruited my sister to join in on the running. Who doesn't like punny running tops?

Lilly Pulitzer Riley Infinity Scarf. With fall around the corner I am looking at grabbing a few more scarves. I love scarf weather and a bright and patterned scarf makes a statement with any outfit. Plus, why not join in on the tassel trend?

What is currently on your lust list? Have you read the book if i stay?

What I Wore Wednesday

Hey y'all,

One of the requests for blog posts y'all submitted from my 200 follower giveaway was to see more Outfit of the Day posts. I have yet to have time to go take nice pictures of various outfits but I have been making an effort over the past few weeks to snap a few pictures of my outfits. So here are 10 outfits from the past month. The jewelry is typically all the same since I always wear an Anne Klein bracelet watch of some kind (I have a two-tone one, a silver, and a gold watch), my pearl ring, my monogram square ring and pearls. Lately, I have also been wearing my monogram necklace from ElizaJay Charm. Also, most of these are work outfits, minus the last one is from this weekend for a college graduation. If you have any questions or suggestions for blog posts let me know!

Things I'm Loving Thursday

Hey y'all,

I thought I would compile a list of ten things I am loving today. I know that sometimes we get so bogged down it is great to have a reminder of all the good things.

I'm loving...

...today is the start of Spring! Bring out the sundresses, sandals, Claritin and open the windows to enjoy fresh air and sun.

...speaking about Spring today's weather is beautiful! It is currently 59 degrees outside and I just want to go lay on the quad and enjoy the day.

...lunch dates with Katie Perk. I loved that I was able to catch up with this sweet girl. We enjoyed some McAllister's sweet tea and talked about all things movies, books, tv shows and life. I call that a great lunch hour.

...Divergent the film comes out tomorrow (well technically tonight at 8pm). I am currently trying to find time that my roommate and I can find to go see the film together.

...bridesmaid dress shopping for jCm is today! I am so excited to be Jenn's MOH and today myself and the other bridesmaids are going to check out some dresses.

...it's Big/Little week! While my family is not expecting a new addition it was still fun to go to chapter and enjoy the serenading boys while the little's got flowers from their bigs.

...these PJ pants from Old Navy are my favorite and some of them are on sale! I am trying really hard not to buy them all but they are the best!

...The NCAA tournament is underway! Do you have your bracket ready? Who are your final four?

...starting a new book. I started Love Starts with Elle the other day and I think I will be finishing it up shortly. I loved Once Upon a Prince and A March Bride, so I think this book will keep me occupied before I can find Princess Ever After at the library.

...getting to see my baby sister kDi Saturday, possibly. My baby sister went home for her spring break last week and my parent's sent her back with a book and some Vera Bradley accessories my Mom grabbed at the Outlet that matched the duffel I got for my birthday. I think matching travel accessories are the best and while I have no travel plans in the future I am ready to have my set all together.

What are you loving today?

Weekend Update!

Hi y'all,

So this past weekend ended on Thursday for me with leaving work a bit early(after lots of wonderful work birthday celebrations) to head to my parent's house. With the snow that fell on Tuesday, the roads still had some ice so I wanted to make it home before it got dark. While I was pulling into town I caught this sunset below. It was such a great reminder that God is the creator and even after a long day of work we can revel in the beauty of this earth.

After arriving home it was time for lovely home-cooked dinner, watching Jeopardy/Wheel of Fortune, then watching Reign and Elementary before crashing.

Friday I was able to sleep in (after waking at 4:30 when some cats decided they wanted to walk all over me) and watch Live with Kelly & Michael before getting ready to head out for my birthday! My mom and I decided to hit the Old Navy where I got a pair of black flats and a nude pair of flats along with this dress. Then at Barnes & Noble, in the bargain book section I picked up Time Untime(in hardcover) and The Runaway Princess. After a nice lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and some Coldstone (I mean you have to indulge on your birthday) we headed over to Target. At Target I was able to find this beautiful scarf and picked up some other items that were necessary but I hate to buy bras so why not make them part of your present? Finally we ended at Marshall's where I got a bash and chop!

The evening ended with some Quiznos, skyping into book club, watching Say Yes to the Dress, watching Parental Guidance and opening up the rest of my presents to find a Vera Bradley large duffel in Baroque, Downton Abbey Series 1-3 on DVD, and a Willow Tree figure
Max and Lilly liked my present.
Saturday was a lazy day. It was raining outside so we spent the day in pajamas watching movies like Dolphin Tale on ABC Family and The Butler. We also made it to mass that evening and while we were going to go to a new Italian restaurant near my parent's house the wait was 40 minutes so we went to the Harris Teeter next door and got salads and ready made meals. Lazy Saturdays are the best.

Sunday was my last day at home so it began with homemade waffles, eggs and sausage. After breakfast I packed up my stuff while watching Say Yes to the Dress and my Mom and I watched Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters before I hit the road. Once back I hit the Aldi for some groceries and then unpacked, made dinner and watched Downton Abbey.

I would call the weekend as a nice relaxing time away! What did you do this weekend?

Blogger Breakfast in Bed

Hey y'all,

A few weeks ago Dorothy of Prep In Your Step proposed the idea of a link-up entitled "Blog Breakfast in Bed" I of course could not pass up the opportunity to meet more bloggers and share a few things about me.

via
How cute is this invitation?
Now let's get started:
YAY for waking up selfies!
Yes, I do put my hair on the top of my head for bedtime.
What is the first thing you do on a lazy Saturday morning?
Saturday mornings are the only time I get to sleep in and by sleep in I am talking 8 or 9am. Once awake I tend to spend a few hours reading on my nook or my latest library book before heading to the gym and starting my weekend. I am not usually hungry in the mornings so I typically grab an english muffin with peanut butter & honey or some cinnamon raisin bread before hitting the road.

What would your ideal breakfast be, don't forget the coffee?!
Hmmm, I deal breakfast would be homemade waffles with strawberries and cool whip. On the side would be some scrambled eggs and bacon crisped nicely. I do not drink coffee but a nice glass of orange juice and a cup of hot green tea would be wonderful!
via
If you could have woken up this morning and been anywhere, where would it be?
Since I am writing this on my birthday, I would have liked to wake up and be someplace tropical. It snowed here in NC on Tuesday and Thursday broke a record for the lowest low in like 30 years. Walking in 7 degree weather is not fun. Plus who doesn't want to go to the beach on their birthday (I would just want to pack lots of sunscreen.

PJ OOTN:
Top: Fraternity Collection Adelaide on Southern Sky
Pants: Old Navy (similar)
{And just for fun }What is your favorite instagram filter?
Hmmm...it really depends on the photo but I like Lo-Fi &X-Pro II
And these guys were helping me blog too!

What's your favorite breakfast food? Do you prefer breakfast in bed or going out to brunch?

Rainy Days Call For A Little Lilly

Hey y'all,

I realized I have yet to share with y'all any more outfit photos from my adventure with Allison back in November! I have a go to outfit for work on rainy days and while today is really gross outside I almost wore this exact outfit to work. I always like to mix bright colors in on a dreary day to cheer myself up, I mean life is colorful even in a stormy gray day.

My current go to work bag is the Flicker Sophie from Kate Spade New York (sold out) but I am loving this Michael Kors one and this blush Kate Spade tote.

Top: Old Navy (old)/Pants: Target/ Shoes: Ralph Lauren Amarissa Flats (old)/ Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf in Fiesta Pink Spring Fling/ Monogram Necklace: ElizaJay Charm/ Watch: Anne Klein (old)/ Bangles: KSNY bridesmaid idiom & this is the year (2012 version this years can be found here) idiom
I hope y'all have a nice (dry) day! Do you have a go to rainy day outfit?

With only two weeks until Christmas Eve, it is officially Holiday Party season! Whether you are getting dressed up for a family affair, work party, date night, or a night out with the girls I am always a fan of the little black dress and this one is work appropriate and under $30 so I wear it constantly! Some OOTDs

Hey y'all,

I was way to busy yesterday to post so I hope you understand! This past weekend I went home to visit my parents, got my hair cut (you can see the new 'do here), saw one of my best friends from high school, slept 10+ hours every night, cuddled with kittens. Then yesterday I left home to go to the dentist, drove back to Chapel Hill for a doctors appointment and then did the usual weekend things like clean my room, grocery shop all topped off with an amazing night of small group. So I hope you understand that blogging was kind of neglected but I will post my 30 days of thanks later for today and yesterday. Now onto what you really want, my daily life of outfits.

30 days of thanks {lazy Sundays}

Hey y'all,

So for today's 30 days of thanks I will have to include a love and lots of thanks for weekends at home with my parents especially when it includes a lazy Sunday with absolutely no plans. I am thankful for the busy days but there is nothing like a day of hanging around your childhood home, cuddling with kittens, sleeping in until 10am and reading.
Lobster pjs are the best.
There really is nothing like a homecooked meal of steak and salad for dinner with sherbet for dessert. It was such a nice time at home being lazy and sleeping for 10+ hours every night. I love my parents and it reminds me that I need to take some time to have breaks for entire weekends. Between teaching Sunday School, babysitting, trying to have a social life I forget to take time for myself.
the kittens
I hope you take the time to enjoy your weekends that have nothing planned.
