March Madness {Lillybee University}

Hey y'all,

For those of y'all that don't live in the Tar Heel State, March doesn't just mean nice weather, but in fact means lots and lots of basketball with March Madness. March always kicks off with the Duke/Carolina game followed by the ACC Tournament and Selection Sunday determines the NCAA tournament members on March 15th. I've been so proud of the way my Tar Heels have been playing in the ACC Tournament, but since it's called March Madness we all know the NCAA tournament always has some very interesting games.
While a preppy dress code of sundresses, sandals, and boots are expected for Southern Football games, I find it very hard to determine what to wear for basketball games while maintaining a preppy style. It can be especially tough when your school colors are so specific, like UNC's Carolina Blue. Lots of students wear Carolina t-shirts and basketball jerseys but that isn't necessarily my style and now that I don't make it to the Dean Dome often I look for Carolina items and accessories that I can incorporate into my entire wardrobe.

Enter Lillybee University who reached out about their College and University line and I knew I had to share them with y'all. Some of y'all might have seen the photo I posted already on Instagram but I was sent the University of North Carolina Flats and I am in love. They are so comfortable and will work perfectly for going to the game or supporting my Heels from afar. I wore my pair to a friend's house to watch the Duke/Carolina game this past Saturday and I was so comfortable and got so many compliments on these flats. I know I will be wearing them to other Carolina games whether baseball, football, or basketball.

For those of you with a similar preppy style I thought I would share a few different outfits from casual to professional to showcase how versatile these flats are and how you can continue to show support for your school no matter if you have to be in the office or are front row at the Dean Dome.
 Game Day.
Since the Dome can get pretty warm I try to go with a cami and sweater combination. I love this Vineyard Vines tote that can fit in everything while still showing my support. I also love that you can add on bow clips to the Lillybee U flats so at the game everyone knows you cheer for UNC.

 Dressed to Impress
I would probably rock this outfit for work or even Carolina Football games but I had to include it for those that like to be a little more dressed up at the game.
Fan from Afar
For those of you not in the area or who work and still want to show off their love of the Tar Heels, I love pairing this Carolina Blue top with the flats for a subtle support look.
I am currently rocking this look for casual Friday since the ACC Tournament is going on and it's Spring Break on Campus.

Lillybee University has so many color options and styles so no matter if your school is listed I am sure you can find a style to fit your gameday look. I personally am eyeing the UNC wedges for the spring game and for early fall football games. I mean, how cute would they be with a little white sundress?

What do you find difficult in dressing to showcase your school spirit?

*This is not a sponsored post. I did receive the UNC flats for review but as always I only post items I am passionate about and will always share my opinions completely.*

Gameday {UVA}

Hey y'all,

It's Saturday so it is time to watch my Tar Heels take on the Cavaliers in Charlottesville today. For today's look I found this gorgeous dress from the boutique, Bluetique. The navy color actually works for both teams so I based this look on the dress and thought a few colorful accessories could determining if you are cheering "WahooWa" or "Go Heels." With fall coming in, a scarf and boots finishes off the look along with some jewelry that coordinates for a stylish look that won't have you shivering in the stands.

Gameday {UNC vs. ND}

Hey y'all,

Today, UNC has headed up to South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish. Since the high there is pretty cool I decided to keep the looks for both teams casual. All you would need is a nice coat and you can head to the stadium for tailgates and the big game.

Notre Dame vs UNC

I am such a jeans and sweatshirt girl whenever it gets cold so this is a typical fall outfit for me. Who doesn't love the little pops of Carolina blue especially with this gorgeous tote which can be embossed with your initials.

For Notre Dame I tried to keep the traditional colors of blue and gold, although I know that green is prevalent when talking about the fighting Irish. I love the Kate Spade watch I was able to find and it would be stacked perfectly with this Alex & Ani bangle that shows some team spirit. I always love simple accessories for football games since you will be outside and standing for a couple of hours you want to be comfortable and dressed for a game not a gala.

Weekend Shenanigans (a day late)

Hey y'all,

So the computer is completely out of commission. Thursday night I tried to set it back to factory settings but it would not allow it to go to start Windows normally without making the blue screen of death appear, and Safe Mode will not re-set it up. It is really sad but after 5+ years and a few drops in my various dorm rooms, that computer has lasted through a lot. Now is the great computer search. So if I have spotty blog posts, you guys know why.

Now this weekend was filled with exciting things. First, Friday for lunch I tried out Tru deli. For those of you who have not been in the Chapel Hill area for a while, it is where P.T's Grille used to reside. It was really good and I loved the atmosphere, I would recommend you check it out. Friday night meant a relaxing night in. After a few trips to Target to check out some things (and scoring some sports bras for under $5 a piece) it was time to head home. I had been so busy lately and I definitely needed the rest so after I went to go check on the Chihuahua I was dog sitting I settled in for a night of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team, I Found the Gown,  and SYTTD. It was pure bliss.

Saturday morning came and I got up to do a few chores (dishes) and then began getting ready for the UNC/ECU game. LC arrived and since she was looking adorable I dressed up. After some awful game day traffic we were able to head to the game and meet up with her parent's in their season ticket seats. While the game was not what I had hoped, there was ample amounts of people watching and I am sorry but there are some shades of blue that are not under the Carolina Blue umbrella #sorrynotsorry. After the game, I enjoyed a night in again with the book I am reading, On Folly Beach, and catching up on the Big Bang Theory, HIMYM & Elementary.
Carolina

Sunday. Sunday was a hard day, to say the least. I have been babysitting two super sweet boys for months now and it was my last week with the family last Sunday and this Sunday I began working with another family in the same church. It was super difficult since my original two guys were both in the nursery with me as usual but they have now moved to MONTANA. Yep. They are gone. It was really tough hugging the little guys and saying goodbye. After that tough morning I ran off to the Verizon store to get my iPhone. Y'all, I had been living with an LG Chocolate for almost 4 years (yes I upgraded and then less than 6 months later my phone was lost in the library during my Senior year of undergrad). Since I was being kicked off my parent's plan I splurged for the iPhone 4s.
After two hours in that store, yes two. Waiting on the list then having to be put back on after my parent's okayed my exit from their plan, I was seen by a manager with great customer service. Then it was checking on the puppy and an Officer Meeting with PBX. After a great conversation with the best guy friend it was time to go to bed.

Now for your delight....

And, the kittens are here! My parent's kittens are visiting for the week and I am so excited, if you have begun to follow me on Instagram, I am sorry but it will be cat photos for the next week....

Fall Gamedays

Hey y'all,

Today my Tar Heels take on Georgia Tech down in GA. If I had made it down south I think I would wear something like this. It is beautiful weather right now but it is supposed to rain up here and GA is expected to be in the 80s. So here is a great transition to fall tailgate outfit.

GAME DAY!

Hey y'all,

My best guy friend is in town for the weekend and we scored some tickets to UNC's first home game of the season against Middle Tennessee State University so I thought I would show another gameday look. This is similar to what I will probably be wearing to the game this afternoon!

The correct shade of blue...

Hey y'all,

I know that I have disappeared off the blog-o-sphere the past few weeks but work was crazy busy and I know that I needed to get my head in the right place. However, all is well, work has died down and now I am excited to get back to blogging since I seriously missed interacting with y'all. Now tonight is an important night for those of us from North Carolina. It is March Madness, the sky is Carolina blue and tonight the Tobacco Road rivalry continues as UNC takes on Duke at the Dean Dome. While I am no longer a student, living in Chapel Hill you cannot escape the fever of this rivalry and as an alum we all wait for these match ups.

So here are a few things about Carolina
via
If I still had some, this would be my breakfast of champions...
via
And if I had tickets to the game I would love to be sporting this beauty...
via
But instead I will be at home, watching from my television and shouting "Go To Hell Duke!!"
via
Peace and Blessings,
jDl

Hark the sound of Tar Heel voices

Ringing clear and true.
Singing Carolina's praises.
Shouting N-C-U.
N-C-U !

Hail to the brightest star of all
Clear its radiance shine
Carolina priceless gem.
Receive all praises thine

I'm a Tar Heel born, I'm a Tar Heel bred.

And when I die, I'm a Tar Heel dead.

So it's rah-rah, Car'lina-'lina!
Rah-rah, Car'lina-'lina!
Rah-rah, Car'lina-'lina!
