March Madness {Lillybee University}

Hey y'all,

For those of y'all that don't live in the Tar Heel State, March doesn't just mean nice weather, but in fact means lots and lots of basketball with March Madness. March always kicks off with the Duke/Carolina game followed by the ACC Tournament and Selection Sunday determines the NCAA tournament members on March 15th. I've been so proud of the way my Tar Heels have been playing in the ACC Tournament, but since it's called March Madness we all know the NCAA tournament always has some very interesting games.
While a preppy dress code of sundresses, sandals, and boots are expected for Southern Football games, I find it very hard to determine what to wear for basketball games while maintaining a preppy style. It can be especially tough when your school colors are so specific, like UNC's Carolina Blue. Lots of students wear Carolina t-shirts and basketball jerseys but that isn't necessarily my style and now that I don't make it to the Dean Dome often I look for Carolina items and accessories that I can incorporate into my entire wardrobe.

Enter Lillybee University who reached out about their College and University line and I knew I had to share them with y'all. Some of y'all might have seen the photo I posted already on Instagram but I was sent the University of North Carolina Flats and I am in love. They are so comfortable and will work perfectly for going to the game or supporting my Heels from afar. I wore my pair to a friend's house to watch the Duke/Carolina game this past Saturday and I was so comfortable and got so many compliments on these flats. I know I will be wearing them to other Carolina games whether baseball, football, or basketball.

For those of you with a similar preppy style I thought I would share a few different outfits from casual to professional to showcase how versatile these flats are and how you can continue to show support for your school no matter if you have to be in the office or are front row at the Dean Dome.
 Game Day.
Since the Dome can get pretty warm I try to go with a cami and sweater combination. I love this Vineyard Vines tote that can fit in everything while still showing my support. I also love that you can add on bow clips to the Lillybee U flats so at the game everyone knows you cheer for UNC.

 Dressed to Impress
I would probably rock this outfit for work or even Carolina Football games but I had to include it for those that like to be a little more dressed up at the game.
Fan from Afar
For those of you not in the area or who work and still want to show off their love of the Tar Heels, I love pairing this Carolina Blue top with the flats for a subtle support look.
I am currently rocking this look for casual Friday since the ACC Tournament is going on and it's Spring Break on Campus.

Lillybee University has so many color options and styles so no matter if your school is listed I am sure you can find a style to fit your gameday look. I personally am eyeing the UNC wedges for the spring game and for early fall football games. I mean, how cute would they be with a little white sundress?

What do you wear to basketball games?
What do you find difficult in dressing to showcase your school spirit?
(Mine is always finding Carolina Blue items)
Who are you rooting for in the upcoming NCAA tournament?

*This is not a sponsored post. I did receive the UNC flats for review but as always I only post items I am passionate about and will always share my opinions completely.*

WILW+OHP

Hey y'all,

I was completely thinking today was Tuesday but it's Wednesday, yay for short work weeks! So as usual it is time to discuss somethings that I am loving:

...my future roomie is currently out apartment hunting for our future place! I am so excited and I wish I was there right now but she has the day off and my schedule didn't really work out so I did a lot of the research and she will narrow down our choices.
Amarissa Leather Ballet Flat
...these beautiful flats are in the mail to me! I love my LAUREN by Ralph Lauren flats in gold I found at Marshall's last summer so when I saw the silver ones on sale for Memorial Day for under $40 I grabbed them. They are the most comfortable flat ever.

...this little article about my current home state (I'm a transplant but I relate to a lot of the list).
Saucony Women's Grid Shadow Genesis
...I went to Dick's Sporting Goods on Friday and found some great running shoes. I had begun to get a few shin splints and since my shoes were over a year old it was time to retire them from the running arena. While I am still really behind on my 5K training I am trying and I have a whole 25 more days to improve. My goal is under 45 right now but it looks like I might be running another 5k in September so this one is my first and I will have plenty of time to continue to train for September.
Mossimo Supply Odell Flat

...I found these flats at my Target for $3.24 no less in my size (yes, I did buy a lot of shoes this week.) They were the only pair I saw and since flats are my constant work shoe, and the fact that I had no leopard items in my closet these came home with me.

...While I was out on Saturday, grabbing my running shoes, I cruised into the Old Navy next door since they were having their Memorial Day sale. I ended up trying on two swimsuits(The mix & match halter style in navy/green stripe and the ditsy-floral knot tie bikini) since I love to swim and they were having a 50% off sale. Both suits I tried on I liked. This was a first to go into a store and not have to try on a million suits. My parent's have a pool and I have been swimming since the age of 2 so summer to me always meant a new swimsuit. When I got to the checkout I was so excited since both suits came up under $26!!!

...the Larry to my Bob and I are finally getting together to catch up this week. LE and I were both English majors and in the same pledge class of PBX. She graduated early though and has been in the "real world" a whole 1.5 years. I am so glad that we are both in the Triangle area so that we can continue our friendship. (and if you didn't catch the Bob/Larry reference you need to watch some VeggieTales).
LE & I back in Fall 2009!
...starting on my Christmas list. I know that we are only half-way into 2013 but I am one of those crazy planners so whenever June/July hit I begin to dream of my future Christmas gifts. This year I mainly just have some DVDs for now but in the Fall I will share my completed list.
