March Madness {Lillybee University}

Hey y'all,

For those of y'all that don't live in the Tar Heel State, March doesn't just mean nice weather, but in fact means lots and lots of basketball with March Madness. March always kicks off with the Duke/Carolina game followed by the ACC Tournament and Selection Sunday determines the NCAA tournament members on March 15th. I've been so proud of the way my Tar Heels have been playing in the ACC Tournament, but since it's called March Madness we all know the NCAA tournament always has some very interesting games.
While a preppy dress code of sundresses, sandals, and boots are expected for Southern Football games, I find it very hard to determine what to wear for basketball games while maintaining a preppy style. It can be especially tough when your school colors are so specific, like UNC's Carolina Blue. Lots of students wear Carolina t-shirts and basketball jerseys but that isn't necessarily my style and now that I don't make it to the Dean Dome often I look for Carolina items and accessories that I can incorporate into my entire wardrobe.

Enter Lillybee University who reached out about their College and University line and I knew I had to share them with y'all. Some of y'all might have seen the photo I posted already on Instagram but I was sent the University of North Carolina Flats and I am in love. They are so comfortable and will work perfectly for going to the game or supporting my Heels from afar. I wore my pair to a friend's house to watch the Duke/Carolina game this past Saturday and I was so comfortable and got so many compliments on these flats. I know I will be wearing them to other Carolina games whether baseball, football, or basketball.

For those of you with a similar preppy style I thought I would share a few different outfits from casual to professional to showcase how versatile these flats are and how you can continue to show support for your school no matter if you have to be in the office or are front row at the Dean Dome.
 Game Day.
Since the Dome can get pretty warm I try to go with a cami and sweater combination. I love this Vineyard Vines tote that can fit in everything while still showing my support. I also love that you can add on bow clips to the Lillybee U flats so at the game everyone knows you cheer for UNC.

 Dressed to Impress
I would probably rock this outfit for work or even Carolina Football games but I had to include it for those that like to be a little more dressed up at the game.
Fan from Afar
For those of you not in the area or who work and still want to show off their love of the Tar Heels, I love pairing this Carolina Blue top with the flats for a subtle support look.
I am currently rocking this look for casual Friday since the ACC Tournament is going on and it's Spring Break on Campus.

Lillybee University has so many color options and styles so no matter if your school is listed I am sure you can find a style to fit your gameday look. I personally am eyeing the UNC wedges for the spring game and for early fall football games. I mean, how cute would they be with a little white sundress?

Gameday {UVA}

Hey y'all,

It's Saturday so it is time to watch my Tar Heels take on the Cavaliers in Charlottesville today. For today's look I found this gorgeous dress from the boutique, Bluetique. The navy color actually works for both teams so I based this look on the dress and thought a few colorful accessories could determining if you are cheering "WahooWa" or "Go Heels." With fall coming in, a scarf and boots finishes off the look along with some jewelry that coordinates for a stylish look that won't have you shivering in the stands.

Gameday {UNC vs. ND}

Hey y'all,

Today, UNC has headed up to South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish. Since the high there is pretty cool I decided to keep the looks for both teams casual. All you would need is a nice coat and you can head to the stadium for tailgates and the big game.

Notre Dame vs UNC

I am such a jeans and sweatshirt girl whenever it gets cold so this is a typical fall outfit for me. Who doesn't love the little pops of Carolina blue especially with this gorgeous tote which can be embossed with your initials.

For Notre Dame I tried to keep the traditional colors of blue and gold, although I know that green is prevalent when talking about the fighting Irish. I love the Kate Spade watch I was able to find and it would be stacked perfectly with this Alex & Ani bangle that shows some team spirit. I always love simple accessories for football games since you will be outside and standing for a couple of hours you want to be comfortable and dressed for a game not a gala.

Gameday {UNC vs. VTech}

Hey y'all

It is another Saturday in the Fall which means it is time for some football. Today my beloved Heels take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech. I am lucky that the game is this afternoon and I have time to watch the game before I head off to teach some Pre-schoolers about the Miracles of Christ at church. I even decided that this week I would include some game day outfits for the team on the other side of the field so no matter who you are rooting for during this Military Appreciation Game you can look great!

Since the weather will be in the high 60s, I thought this skirt from Olly Oxen would look great paired with a white long sleeve top and boots. Throw on some more carolina blue accesories like this tassel scarf from Francesca's, this gorgeous tote bag from Barrington Gifts and your trusty pearls before heading out to a tailgate or climbing the Bell Tower.

Now if you are a VTech fan, I figured you might need something a bit more comfortable since you are making a drive down to the game. I love this J. Crew Factory Top and it is the perfect maroon color. All you need are a few orange accessories like these Reva Flats and this Hat from State Traditions. I mean, if you have an early morning driving, throwing your hair up in a pony tail and tossing it under a hat are a perfect combination for cute and casual. Also, this Alma Mater scarf from Peach Roots shows off Virginia Tech pride perfectly for early fall.

Fall Gamedays

Hey y'all,

Today my Tar Heels take on Georgia Tech down in GA. If I had made it down south I think I would wear something like this. It is beautiful weather right now but it is supposed to rain up here and GA is expected to be in the 80s. So here is a great transition to fall tailgate outfit.

GAME DAY!

Hey y'all,

It is the day most of us in the South have been waiting for, the first football game of the season! While I am a fan of Saturday games, the coveted Thursday night game means tonight's showing between the Carolinas will be very interesting. I know we are not predicted to win but I am excited to see the new players and cheer on my alma mater. While I am not at the game, I thought I would put together a look I would love to rock if I was in Columbia.

Who are you cheering for? Are you excited for College Football to start?

Also, you should check out this poem about the Carolina posted today on the Daily Tar Heel.

Bracket Time!

Hey y'all,

Going to the University of North Carolina will make you become a basketball fan. While I would rather watch football if I had the choice I will always pull for the Tar Heels during March Madness. While it might kill my chances in the office bracket, I do have UNC up until the Final Four (let's hope!). For now though, after last nights games I have 12 right so far so things are looking good.

And here is a video that is making it's way around my office this afternoon:

Peace and Blessings (& GO HEELS),
