Devotional Review {P.S. He Loves You}

Hey y'all,

I am really excited to share with you a book written by a fellow blogger. Erin James of Sweetness Itself wrote a beautiful devotional book titled, P.S. He Loves You which you can purchase HERE.

Erin was really sweet to give me a copy of her book to review. The devotional is eleven days long filled with letters to the reader, bible verses and lots of beautiful photography. I do not want to give any of the devotion away but they all revolve on reminding yourself that you are completely and whole loved by God and through Him you are healed, cared for, respected, cherished and so much more.

While a short little devotion I think it is definitely worth looking at as a refocusing of your heart when outside factors are challenging you or you just want to remind yourself that you have a Father in Heaven that loves you unconditionally and sent His only Son to rescue you from sin and death.

Also, going along with this devotional review, one of the girls in my small group sent out a link to Naptime Diaries' Lenten Journal. I just checked and yesterday was the day to order to guarantee it's arrival before Lent (which starts next Wednesday) but the journal is 40 undated journal entries so you can begin anytime that you want. I just thought I would share!

Lenten Promises

via

Hey y'all,

I hope you all enjoyed your Mardi Gras in whatever way you celebrate (my night included cookie dough and watching the chick flick When in Rome) but today begins a 40 day challenge between myself and my faith. This year I am giving up a few things in my pursuit of a deeper relationship with God. For accountabilities sake, I thought I should post my promises since we all know that accountability helps in strengthening our promises when we are back sliding. Now here we go:

Giving up snacking.
I know that recently I have gotten in the bad habit of snacking between meals, and this is anything from cookies, chips, fruit, etc. I need to plan my meals better and spend that time when I feel like I am craving food as a reminder that I need to crave a relationship with God more.

Shopping.
I need to stop spending money. I know I have a bad habit and could be called a shopoholic. I love to search for a great deal and find the perfect piece for my apartment or my wardrobe but I need to focus on being content with all the blessings I already posess.

Being thankful and giving praise.
I know a lot of times prayers can be a laundry list of wants and concerns but learning to stop and give praise in the small things like a sunny day, a great messages in my devotion, etc. God wants to hear the good and the bad and I need to remember all of my current blessings such as a job, apartment, great family and friends as all daily blessings that God has provided.

What are your promises? Will you hold me acountable?

Peace and Blessings,

have faith.

hey y'all,

It has been a strange week so far but I hope you are all enjoying Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday)! Tomorrow begins the reflective season of Lent for some demoniations in the Christian faith so I felt that today while we debate what we will give up or add over the next 40 days we should reflect on some verses and I found some great pinterest pins to illustrate:

Do you participate in Lent? What are you giving up or taking on over the next 40 days?

Peace and Blessings,
