Birds of a Feather {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

We have almost made it through the work week! Today was a tough day but I am lucky to have plans with one of my grandlittles tonight. We have a tradition of hanging out watching Scandal while drinking wine and eating cookies. Yep, we are those kind of friends. Really, I haven't seen this girl throughout the summer since she has been so busy graduating college and becoming a teacher!

Today ends my critter couture series. It has been a nice change of pace for my blog but do not worry we will be back to more lifestyle posts soon as my life will be calming down after my half marathon on the 19th!

I think most people have wondered what it would feel like to fly, while I'm not able to give you that superpower I can give you some great items for your closet that highlight our fine feathered friends.

Birds of a Feather

If all over bird prints are not your style, you can check out this sweater or this one from Ann Taylor.

As always, you can check out all my critter couture posts here.

Would you rock animal critter prints?

Zealous Zebras {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

Do you ever feel that you are stuck in a rut. I think that I wear way to many black clothes to work every week so I am starting to explore other options. However, black and white are such classic staples and even found in nature, such as in today's featured animal for my critter couture series. Yes, this mini series is almost over and while it might have been a bit lackluster, it did jump start me back into posting regularly.

I would love to hear some of your thoughts on your favorite posts! Come back Thursday for the conclusion of my critter couture series!

You can catch up with the rest of the critter couture series here.

Also, today I found out who my great-great-great-grandlittle is! Yes, there are some benefits for being an advisor to your sorority including meeting all of you family members! I am so happy for my ggglitte since she is so excited to craft and welcome her little in two weeks!

Horsing Around {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

My Mom grew up riding horses all the time so I have always had a soft spot for the magnificent beasts. However, you will never find me riding one. They are kind of scary for me and my Mom had a bad fall when I was little so I have been wary ever since. I mean, I will brush them and spend all day at a farm with them but if you ever see me on a horse it might be the end of the world.

It seems like horse items are slowly coming into the world of fashion. Here are some things you can add to your closet that show you love the magnificent beauty of horses without wearing a costume:

What are your feelings on horses? Have you ever gone riding?

Under the Sea {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

I am so sorry to have had a blog post hiatus this weekend. I was so busy with a work picnic Friday afternoon, a get together at LJ's house Saturday, and then hanging out with friends watching Guardians of the Galaxy Sunday that this little blog land got neglected.

I think it might be the fact that I competitively swam for most of my childhood but I have always loved the sea and the many creatures one can find in the ocean. I mean, I might have a whale toothbrush holder and soap dispenser in my bathroom since whales are one of my favorite animals. I think sea creatures are becoming more visible in the world of fashion especially with companies like Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines becoming more widespread nationally.

Here are some fun finds if a sea creature is more of your fancy:

Stand Tall {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

It is another rainy, grey, fall day here in NC and I thought I would share some more of my critter couture series with my favorite animal, the giraffe. My love for giraffes might stem purely based on the fact that my Daddy loves them and that I am the shortest person in my family. However, who doesn't love an animal that has the confidence and poise to stand tall in any situation.Here are some picks for items to show off a love of giraffes:

And remember if you missed a post from critter couture you can catch up by reading about my finds with the following animals: lambs, camels, and elephants.

 Tomorrow is FRIDAY! Do you have any exciting plans for your weekend?

Wishlist Wednesday {September 24} & Humpday {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

It is a rainy day here in the triangle so I thought I should share some of my current rainy day wishlist items along with another installment of my critter couture series. It is Wednesday so of course I am highlighting some items with the lovely camel on them. I mean, who wouldn't love this sweater in the nice chilly days that are coming for fall.

lambs

Since it is a rainy day, I would rather be at home cuddled up in these cute polka dot pjs from Old Navy, wearing nice comfy slippers (I love my Minnetonkas and this pair might need to join the bunch), watching my latest Netflix obsession The Blacklist. I might also need some hot chocolate in these cute mugs from World Market and have y'all tried the White Cheddar Popcorn from Angie's? It is delicious and all the ingredients are normal!!

What are you wishing for this Wednesday? Would you wear camel gear?

Everyone's Favorite Pachyderm {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and it wasn't too difficult to climb out of bed! Last week, I started a mini-series I'm calling Critter Couture! I love that the fall brings boots, scarves, and lots of whimsy over the past few years as far as critters appearing on clothing. From dresses to sweaters to jewlery, animals are making lots of statements and I thought I would share daily a different animal and all the cute options you could add to your closet. Today, I thought I would focus on the elephant. I think everyone loves elephants and as seen by everyone's obsession with Lilly Pulitzer's pattern Tusk in Sun, elephants are here to stay in the world of fashion.

Here are some of my finds:

I've Got My Eye on Ewe {Critter Couture}

Hey y'all,

The past few fall seasons have included a lot of critters making their way onto the runway and this fall from looking at stores is no different. I thought I would compile some looks over the next week or so of some adorable animals. Who needs a menagerie when you can add some critters into your closet?

Ever since I joined Phi Beta Chi, I have steadily been on the look out for adorable things with lambs on them. I currently only have lamb socks and pajamas but I am thinking this scarf from Target might need to join my collection for fun chapter apparel during on of my advisor duties.

I've Got My Eye on Ewe

Are there any critters you adore?
