Vacation Update & 100 Followers

Hey y'all,

Sorry it has been forever since I blogged. I spent  a lovely few days in Wilmington, NC followed by watching as much Olympics as I could between work and the internet decided to die for a few days. So here is an update of what I did over my mini-vacation (I am nicknaming it the vacation of good food and wine).

Monday. I planned on leaving Monday morning but an emergency babysitting job came up so I ended up leaving a little before noon which worked out just fine. It is a really nice drive to Wilmington from my hometown and not too long. So I arrived at my friend jHl's (or Jessie, we call each other twins since she is one day older than me and we practically have the same name) apartment in gorgeous downtown Wilmington. I don't know if it is just me but I love historic homes in beach towns. The beautiful architecture and rich colors make it so special. Jessie had to run to work a little after I got there which I understand as a college student that money is important. So I spent time reading, taking a nap after my drive and playing with the dogs she was pet-sitting (Twinkie and Cupcake). After jHl came back from work we ran to Sweet & Savory for dinner. I have known Jessie since the 8th grade and she is one of a handful of individuals I still keep up with after High School. It is so funny because even though we took completely different paths we have had some of the same experiences in college and our conversations are so natural as if we haven't been apart. I know we both have grown a lot in college but it was great to see her and share what is going on in my life and hers. After dinner we ran to Harris Teeter (grocery store) for some wine and ice-cream before heading back to her place to watch You've Got Mail.

It was Jessie's first time having Moscato and I converted her!
TUESDAY.
Enjoying the beach view!
We got up early (9am) to head to Wrightsville Beach! It was the perfect weather and the beach was not crowded at all (well except for a good number of surfers and there were a few close calls) and the water was the perfect temperature. I wish I could live on the beach but after a few hours of conversation, reading, people watching and a walk down to the pier we decided to pack it up and low and behold an hour later I realized I had a horrible sunburn on my back (yes I wore SPF I just burn too easily and am now starting to peel a week later). After going back to the apartment, Jessie had to run to work again, which was a-okay since my grandlittle, sGc, lives in the area and we met up to explore downtown Wilmington. It was great to see her since she left right after school ended to study abroad in ITALY! I loved looking in all the adorable shops and catching up on European adventures and comparing how we loved Europe. It was great to have another connection and I was sad when our time ended (I will just have to visit in the fall since they all start to move back to Chapel Hill THIS WEEK!!!!). A couple of hours of reading (no TV or Internet in the apartment) and cuddling with the dogs Jessie was back and we ran out to dinner at Fat Tony's and then to the wine bar The Fortunate Glass.A perfect Day ending in the movie Penelope.
OOTD After the Beach

Hanging out with my g-little, sGc with the USS North Carolina in the background/

The adorable decor in The Fortunate Glass.

WEDNESDAY.
A quick run to a local coffee shop and more conversations about boys, life, friends, and our futures was followed by a jaunt to the mall to grab a few things. After lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, Jessie was back at work and I was in the apartment reading and waiting for one of my little sister's friends to arrive since she was coming into Wilmington for a concert. We ran to dinner at Flamming Amy's (suggested by my grandlittle) and then Jessie came back from work with cupcakes in hand and together they went to the concert(it wasn't my cup of tea) so I stayed in drinking Moscato and watching Chick Flicks like The Wedding Date, Music and Lyrics and Letters to Juliet all while packing up to return home.

The dogs would never sit still for a photo. Oh Well.
THURSDAY.
I was planning on leaving pretty early in the morning but a last minute decision for all of us to have breakfast together meant not leaving until after IHOP. I arrived home in the early after noon blessed to have spent time with someone I know I will cherish as a friend for years to come and having lots of wine, relaxation, good food, and good company. And we never took a photo together, me and Jessie, whoops.

WHILE I WAS GONE I REACHED 100 FOLLOWERS! If you can't tell I am excited, thankful and so blessed by each of y'all and I am currently working on a giveaway as an appreciation for all of you! I hope it will be ready by Friday so be on the lookout!

Book Club Friday!

Hey y'all,

I am back from a quick few days in Wilmington! I will update you tomorrow on my adventures but since last week I have read a whopping 4 books and thought I would share with the great Heather's link-up! It was a nice relaxing vacation and right now I am enjoying watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies(and tweeting away).

So without further ado, since last week I have read....
4/5 stars
Goodreads description: Twenty years ago, when they were teenagers, Holly and Nicola were the outsiders at summer camp. Holly was the plump one, a dreamer who longed to be an artist. Nicola was the shy, plain one who wanted nothing more than to be beautiful. Their cabin nemesis was Lexi. Rich, spoiled, evil Lexi. One night, Holly and Nicola team up to pull one, daring act of vengeance. But they never dream that this one act will have repercussions that will reach into the future, even twenty years later. And they never realize the secret pain that Lexi holds very close, and how their need for revenge costs Lexi a great deal.
Today, Holly is a successful gallery owner, who has put her own artistic dreams on hold. She struggles with her weight and for approval from her constantly-criticizing boyfriend. Nicola, is an almost-famous actress who believes that one little plastic surgery fix is just what she needs to put her over the edge into fame. And Lexi…Lexi is down on her luck and totally broke.
Holly will do anything to be thin. Lexi will do anything to be rich. And Nicola will do anything to be pretty. Thin, Rich, Pretty is the story of three women who believe that happiness is the next dress size down, the next dollar figure up, or the next appreciative glance from a stranger. But mostly it’s the story of how three women save each other, and show each other the path to true contentment. Told with Beth Harbison’s knack for thirty and fortysomething nostalgia, and heartwarming humor, Thin, Rich, Pretty will strike a chord with any woman who has ever got on the scale, looked in the mirror, or the bank, and said, “if only…”

I loved the mix of past experiences and current struggles in this novel which reminds us that even though we think "what if" and "if only" we all have amazing things that make us unique and "us" that we should embrace and celebrate.
4/5 stars
Goodreads description: As far as Gemma is concerned, her days of dating are over. In fact, it’s her job to cater other peoples’ dates, and that’s just fine by her. At thirty-seven, she has her own business, working as a private chef, and her life feels full and secure. She’s got six steady clients that keep her hands full.
There’s Lex, the fussy but fabulous department store owner who loves Oysters Rockefeller and 1950s comfort food; Willa, who needs to lose weight under doctor’s orders but still believes butter makes everything better; a colorful family who may or may not be part of the Russian mob; an überwealthy Georgetown family; the picture-perfect Van Houghtens, whose matriarch is “allergic to everything”; and finally, a man she calls “Mr. Tuesday,” whom she has never met but who she is strangely drawn to.

For Gemma, cooking is predictable. Recipes are certain. Use good ingredients, follow the directions, and you are assured success. Life, on the other hand, is full of variables. So when Gemma’s takes an unexpected turn on a road she always thought was straight and narrow, she must face her past and move on in ways she never would have imagined. Because sometimes in life, all you need is a little hope, a lot of courage, and---oh yes---butter.

I loved the thought of a personal chef story since I love cooking/food. The main character is hysterical as she relates to everyone's struggles of finding love, balancing career and money and the demands of an employer.
3.5/5 stars
Goodreads description: In 1897 England, 16-year-old Finley Jayne is convinced she's a freak. No normal Victorian girl has a darker side that makes her capable of knocking out a full-grown man with one punch. Only Griffin King sees the magical darkness inside her that says she's special . . . that she's one of "them."
I was very surprised that I enjoyed this teen novel. I am not that big of a science fiction fan but love the time period of London/England in the Victorian era and some paranormal. The main character Finley is struggling with finding a balance between good and evil within herself as well as finding other individuals that have special abilities as well as herself. I can't wait to see where the series continues.

Goodreads description:  In "New York Times" bestselling author Hester Browne's delightful new novel, a fading English finishing school is about to get a twenty-first-century makeover. Out with white gloves and flower arranging, in with managing mortgagesand do-it-yourself manicures Behind this remarkable transformation is business-savvy Betsy Phillimore, with her own unique connection to London's esteemed Phillimore Academy for Young Ladies....
Twenty-seven years ago, an infant turned up on the Academy's doorstep, with a note tacked to her blanket by an elegant golden brooch -- "Please take care of my baby. I want her to grow up to be a proper lady." Loved by Lady Frances Phillimore and her kindhearted staff, Betsy grew up aspiring to be an Academy girl. But when Franny and her husband, Lord Phillimore, advise Betsy to instead hone her considerable math skills at college, she brokenheartedly leaves behind the only family she's known.
Now, on the sad occasion of Lady Frances's memorial service, Betsy comes back to find the school in disrepair, the enrollment down, and Lord P. desperate to save his legacy. Enter Betsy, the numbers genius, and her business plan -- to replace dusty protocol with the essentials girls need today: "cell phone etiquette, eating sushi properly, handling credit cards, choosing the perfect little black dress, negotiating a pre-nup, " and other lessons in independent living.
But Betsy may have bitten off more than she can chew. Can she win over the school's snobby headmistress and its handsome but risk-averse treasurer? Returning to London also means facing her own unfinished business, as she crosses paths with her sexy girlhood crush...and blowing the dust off clues to a lifelong mystery: who were her parents, and why did they abandon her? If knowledge is power, Betsy is on the brink of truly becoming her own woman, and embracing the one thing she's wanted all along: a place to call home.
A bittersweet journey of laughter and tears, "The Finishing Touches" will have you gleefully turning pages through dinner with elbows on the table -- bad manners, perhaps, but excusable for one utterly irresistible read.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I love Hester Browne's other book The Little Lady Agency and this book of British finishing schools, a girl finding her family and realizing that your family are a part of you but do not completely define you was great.

I can't wait to hear what y'all have been reading! Don't forget to sign up for my school supply swap to get a great office/school supply package!

Back to School Swap!

via
Hey y'all,

I participated in a lot of fun swaps this summer and you can check out what I received here and here. This wonderful experience of creating a gift package as well as meeting new blog friends was very positive and inspired me to create my own "back to school" swap. I personally love school and office supplies and this time of year always brings a smile to my face. Even though I am no longer a student as some of your out in the blogosphere are with me(or those teachers out there), cute office supplies and stationery are always needed so feel free to sign up.

via

So onto the logistics of everything:

1. Leave a comment on THIS blog post with your name (last names not required), email address, year in school (you can write postgrad or office if you are no longer in college or high school), and your favorite thing about back to school time (or your favorite school supply).

2. Price Range: $10-20(without shipping). I know that there are a lot of school supplies you can find on a small budget especially with sales but this allows you to look at places like Lifeguard Press, Vera Bradley, Sweet Tea Paperie, etc. for some other items as well as Target/Walmart/Staples/Drugstore purchases.

3. I will leave up entry until 11:59EST on July 31st so that I can send out the matches on the 1st of August. Packages should be mailed by the 15th of August. More information will come when I send out the matches.

4. Feel free to mention this and encourage others to join because who hates a fun gift of post-its, pens, and other school goodies?

via
I hope you decide to join! I think this will be a great opportunity to build friendships on Blogger and help someone have the perfect first day of school (or workday) with a lovely gift.

Peace and Blessings,
jDl

Reading the Weekend Away...

Hey y'all,

Sorry for all the link-ups this week but I thought I would share what I have been reading recently so I am linking up with Heather and Katie for Book Club Friday.

So I think I need to place a self imposed ban on trips to the library for a while. I currently have way too many books out (15!) as you can see, but I think I will be set for the next month or so. :)

My current library book stacks. I told you I have a problem.
Here are all the books in a bit closer.

Well onto my book review for the week. This week I finished Jill Mansell's Rumor Has It. I loved the book and as you can see in the images above I picked up as many Jill Mansell's as my local library had.

Here is a synopsis of the book:
Description from Booklist:
Tilly Cole’s boyfriend has just moved out of their flat, with half their things. With nothing to tie her down, Tilly decides on a whim to move closer to her best friend, Erin, in a tiny village in the Cotswolds. There Tilly is immediately hired as a jack-of-all-trades in an interior-design business. Much to her surprise, the small town is a seething hotbed of scandal, sex, backstabbing, and gossipmongering, mostly focused on Jack Lucas, the good-looking man-about-town and her boss’ best friend. Everyone tells Tilly to ignore Jack’s charm, that she’ll be just another notch in his bedpost if she succumbs; but Tilly, who works side by side with Jack, sees a softer, kinder side that’s rarely revealed to the townspeople. He can’t possibly be the Casanova everyone is making him out to be. Or can he? Tilly must separate fact from fiction and follow her gut in Mansell’s cheerful tale of modern love. --Hilary Hatton
I think the book was great (4.5 of 5 stars). If you love a good chick-it book and enjoy authors like Sophia Kinsella or Hester Browne I think you should pick up this story. The book told in multiple perspectives between Erin and Tilly as well as a few characters goes into the lives of a small town where everyone knows everything, or do they? I fell in love with Tilly's character as she works as an assistant/nanny and resists the charms of Jack Lucas as well as supporting her best friend Erin's budding new relationship filled with strings.

I am also currently reading, Finishing Touches by Hester Browne. It is so good and I will of course be finishing it before the weekend is up!

What are you currently reading and loving?

Peace and Blessing,
jDl

p.s. My heart and prayers go out to all of those affected by the shootings in Aurora, CO this morning. I can't believe the heartbreak and tragedy those families and friends are experiencing right now.

Quotable.

Hey y'all,

This past Sunday I was working so I didn't get to post some weekly inspiration. However, I feel that now Wednesday is over, we all need a bit of inspiration to get to the weekend or in my case to get to Monday and vacation time. I hope all of these quotes help to inspire you through your daily life and in your faith.

Peace and Blessings,
jDl

Erin Condren Life Planner (or how I organize my life after college.)

THE VLOG IS FINALLY WORKING!

Hey y'all,

So on Friday right before work a wonderful package came to my door. It was my Erin Condren Life Planner. Here are a few pictures and my first ever vlog(if it ever works) which compares my Lilly Pulitzer planner with my new E.C. Life Planner (excuse me looking crazy/wearing my UNC hoodie and my lazy eye. I decided to film Sunday after working from 4am-1:30pm so I was ready for a nap before dinner.) I am also linking up with Meredith of The Tichenor Family blog for her Life Planner Link-Up.
Well let's get started.
The beautiful box as delivered by FedEx
Upon opening.
IT'S HERE!
The really cute (EXTRA) stickers with my name on them!
My Life Planner. It has my full name on it so for safety I covered up my last name.
It is the Taffy design with my own colorway of pink and navy.
This week!
The notes section is where I put the ruler provided.
The extra goodies.
Vlog
(excuse my rambling)

Also, yesterday right before I posted my Liebster Blog Award, SHF of The Chronicles of S nominated me as well, so instead of doing even more facts, I am going to answer her questions.

1) If you could live in any city, which one would you choose?
A big city in the South most likely. Think Atlanta, Raleigh, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, Charleston, etc.
2) What is your wardrobe staple?
A perfect fitting  pair of jeans.
3) If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would it be?
Hmmm. Probably all of my sorority sisters since I miss them terribly especially my Big whom I haven't seen since October!
4) Blackberry, iPhone, or Android?
I would love an iPhone but I currently have a non-smart phone after my last one got lost in the library during Finals in December. Less than a year until I get to upgrade!
5) What is your favourite unofficial holiday (e.g.: Ice Cream Day)?
Besides my Birthday and half-birthday, I would probably go with the date my sorority was founded since I think Phi Beta Chi has truly shaped who I am and influenced a large number of my friends and experiences over the last 4 years.
6) Which magazine(s) do you read every month?
I currently don't have any magazine subscriptions. I however do love on rare occasions to glance through Glamour, Vogue, Seventeen, Cosmo, Southern Living, and a few more.
7) Where is your favourite vacation spot?
I love the beach. I especially love small non-commercialized beaches like Topsail, NC and the Outerbanks. Small and quiet is the way to go for me.
8) What is (or was) the most interesting class you've taken?
I loved a lot of my classes at UNC (minus calculus and chemistry) so I will write down a few I loved. Introduction to Museum Studies, History of the Medieval Church, Art History of the Illuminated Manuscript, Victorian Literature and Contemporary Issues, 19th Century British Fiction, Medieval Art in Western Europe, Gender and Imperialism, and many more.
9) Which of your birthday parties has been your favourite?  What was the theme?
I loved my 18th Birthday. We went mini-golfing and it was perfect weather considering my birthday is in January. I actually have never really hated any birthday except for ones that fall on Superbowl Sunday.
10) If you could guest star on any TV show, which one would you choose?
THE CHEW! I would love to be on What Not to Wear or Say Yes to the Dress but not as a guest star. If you have never seen The Chew go to Hulu and watch an episode. Basically it is a cooking show every afternoon at 1pm et. on ABC with hillarious personalities like Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall, Daphene Oz, Mario Batali, and Michael Symon. I mean, yesterday's episode was about State Fair food and they had a butter cow. Come on.
11) What & where is your favourite building (e.g.: the Getty Museum in LA)?
This is really hard after living in Europe since there are many gorgeous buildings and churches. I would probably go with the Louvre in Paris, France. I love the mix of contemporary glass features and the original architecture of the time it served as a royal residence.

As always if you have any questions or concerns email me or write a comment!

Blog Award: The Liebster Award.

Hey y'all,

Sorry I have been MIA due to working all weekend but there was a nice surprise that on Saturday I was nominated by two lovely bloggers, Kentucky Belle in the Making and Ally of Sunny Sweetheart , for the Liebster Blog Award. The award focuses on upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers since the word Liebster from German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome. Thank you so much for the warm welcome to the blogger world. I still can't believe that I am on my third month on this blog of my life and adventures after graduation. This is actually the second time I recieved this award, to see my first post click HERE.

Now as with all blog awards there are a few rules. So here they are:

1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you and create 11 questions for the people you have tagged to answer.
3. Choose people five people to pass the award onto and link them in your post.
4. Inform those individuals of their award.
5. No tag backs!

11 Facts about me. For more information check out my About Me section.

1. I didn't have my first kiss until I was 21 and I still have never had a boyfriend. While I waited until I was kissed I always felt strange that I missed a hurdle most people get over in middle school but it ended up being the perfect thing and was right for me.
2. I have never been to Disneyworld. Only Disneyland.
3. I hate cooked vegetables. I really only love corn and green beans. The rest of them are a no go. I think its a consistency issue which causes me to be a super picky eater.
4. I burn really easily. This morning I went for a 25 minute run and came back pink/. :( Blame my Irish heritage.
5. I drive a 2004 blue Pontiac GrandAm named Bloo.
6. I cry really easily. People my call it over emotional but it is my normal. A sweet movie, book, commercial, youtube video hand me the tissues. Since I probably will be balling my eyes out.
7. If you give me the choice of the beach or the mountains I will always say beach. The mountains are fun in the fall but I love the beach year round, especially chilly spring days.
8. My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast and I can quote the entire thing. I also think I am a lot like Belle (huge fan of reading, speak French, want adventure, and love to care for others.)
9. I currently have 10 books checked out from the library and this is normal for me. I hate not having a huge stack of books waiting for me.
10. I own no clothing from Lilly Pulitzer (shocking I know) but I don't have the budget for her pieces right now. I am a bargain shopper and maybe in the future I will add a few things into my closet.
11. I never remember my dreams. Seriously, I think I have remembered about 11 over my 22 years. I am also a dead sleepers so I don't know if that factors in.

Ally of Sunny Sweetheart's Questions
1. Why do you blog?
I began blogging as a procrastination tool for school my Junior year of college by starting my Tumblr. I began the companion blog the start of my Senior year of college as a collection of memories and an extension of my  Tumblr sensibilities. I began this blog though as a new start to record my life, loves, and thoughts as I transition from college to life in the "real world."
2. What is the last song you listened to?
Luke Bryan's I Don't Want This Night to End.
3. What is your favorite social network (Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, etc.)?
Hmmm. This one is hard. I love looking at everyone's photos on Facebook but as far as keeping up with friends I mainly check out Twitter. I do love the blog community on Blogger though. If you can't tell I am pretty indecisive.
4. Favorite childhood memory?
I had a really happy childhood. I loved taking ballet classes and all of the performances. I also loved swim lessons and just hanging out having sleepovers. I can't really pinpoint a specific memory since I don't remember any bad ones. I did love spending the night at SeaWorld San Antonio. The Academically Gifted kids at my elementary school got to spend the night there. We dissected small sharks in groups, touched dolphins and went to the top of the shark tank. It was pretty cool as a 4th grader.
5. What makes you smile?
Lots of things: children, kindness, my friends, my sorority sisters, my family, a good deal.
6. Favorite spring/summer 2012 trend or fall/winter 2012-2013 trends?
I am loving all of the bright colors this summer and the large statement jewelry.
7. What pets (if any) have you had in your life so far?
2 major pets. A golden retriever named Whiskey when I was really little and then a German Shepherd/Chow Mix named Quincey who just passed away this past spring after 13 years. I have also had a couple different fish including the beta fish Henry Edward Beta and Philip Radish(my Big gave me Radish and it's family tradition to give fish with vegetable names).
8. Favorite hair tool or product?
I love my ghd straightener. Seriously it is the best for my curly hair. Product wise I switch up things a lot since I get bored. I would love recommendations.
9. Do you prefer e-books or regular books?
REGULAR. I don't have an e-reader but I have struggled with this question a lot especially as an English major. You can read all about it here.
10. What ingredients make your perfect sandwich?
White bread, ham, turkey, bacon, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and mayo. Completely unhealthy but so delicious.
11. What sports or activities, if any, did you do/currently do in high school?
I swam on the swim team in middle school but swim team in high school practiced at 5am and I love my sleep. Plus I hated it being so competitive, I love to swim, not to shave time off my records. I did play clarinet in the marching band though for all four years. Other activities: National Honors Society, French Club, French National Honors Society, Academy of Scholars, Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honors Society), Total Image. Volunteering with my church as the nursery and Pre-K teacher for Sunday school. Over involved kid right here.

Kentucky Belle in the Making's Questions

1.) Why did you start blogging?
I answered this question above so I will go with why I love bloggging. I love the outlet to get my thoughts out, I love the community and the amazing women I have "met," I love learning about people's struggles and joys and knowing that everyone truly cares and respects each other. The other day I had an amazing comment about how I am an inspiration. Y'all that made my day. Little old me inspiring someone else that I had never met. That is powerful.
2.) All time favorite song?
Hmm. I am a music junkie. I love really old country music so I would probably go with something like Check Yes or No by George Strait or John Michael Mongomery's I Can Love You Like That.
3.) What do you do to relax?
Bake, read, take a bubble bath, clean, listen to music. Pretty simple things. It is mainly focusing on something else outside of my life that helps me relax.
4.) Would you rather plan out a trip or go spur of the moment?
I am a big planner so plan out the trip. It also helps me pack since I know what to expect, yet I do love having some spontaneous aspects. Plan the big things and then just enjoy.
5.)Boots or heels?
Hmmm. It really depends on the occasion. You are more likely to find me in a pair of riding boots but for special occasions heels all the way.
6.)What's the most unique thing about you?
This question is really hard to me. Maybe I will come up with an answer but for now I am leaving this one blank.
7.)Are you extremely tech savvy or do you struggle?
Decently tech-savy. I wouldn't say I am an expert and if you ask me to do things on a Mac I might be a bit confused but with daily life and applications I am a-okay!
8.) Do you quote Mean Girls?
Sometimes. It is not in my top 10 movies but some quotes are just so memorable. I am more likely quoting Disney movies though.
9.) Do you have bad habits?
I pick at my nail polish. I hate to fold laundry/put it away, or put away dishes. I have a short temper with my sister especially when it comes to manners and being considerate since I know she knows better from living together. I guess that is good for now.
10.) What is something you are extremely proud of?
Hmmm. Probably my degrees. I worked really hard for my high school diploma graduating in the top 10 out of 400 kids at my school. And at Carolina I graduated with a GPA above 3.0 which is a great accomplish coming from one of the hardest public schools in that nation (yes we make the list of the most stressful colleges every year, but I wouldn't have it any other way.)
11.) Do you keep up with the news? Celebrity, political, or both?
I typically keep up with the news when I am home. When I was in college though I barely kept up but I try to have a bit of knowledge of politics, celebrity and local news.

Questions for my recipients:
1. If you could meet one blogger and one celebrity in real life who would you want to meet?
2. If you had access to a time machine where and when would you go?
3. If you were a kitchen appliance what would you be?
4. What fortune would you want from a fortune cookie?
5. What is your favorite book?
6. What song describes you?
7. Favorite candy?
8. Favorite movie you have seen recently?
9. Dream job?
10. Beach or Mountains
11. If you had 1,000 what would you do with it?

I nominate:

Friday Favorites

Hey y'all,

This is going to be a quick post because I am running into work in less than 2 hours! But I had a few favorites of the week I have been meaning to share and thought why not join in a link-up and meet new bloggers.

1. My Erin Condren Life Planner ARRIVES TODAY!
It kills me that I might not be here the moment that the planner arrives since according to FedEx it is in NC but not in my hometown yet. I can't wait to fill it up.

My planner has my name on it but I decided a different colorway of pink and navy so I was excited to see this on the Erin Condren Pinterest Board. Now I know I made the right choice. (I also love that Bible verse.)

2. My new devotional series.
Thanks to Allison at Just a Carolina Girl I discovered the wonderful team of women at She Reads Truth yesterday just in time to start the Prayer reading plan on YouVersion. I am going to be reading the Prayer and the Soul Detox plan at the same time. I already read for the first day last night and I loved the interaction on their blog/twitter. I loved the small groups I was apart of during college through my sorority so this is a large group of women focusing on faith through prayer. I can't wait to see what is going to happen over the next 21 days.

3. Scrapbooking.
This past week I finally got in my last order from Shutterfly ( I had a coupon for 101 free prints!) so I have been working on my Senior year at UNC scrapbook. So far I am finally on my second semester since I have been debating over format and I need to print of a few more pictures and then it will be perfect. It has been a great way to reflect on all the good times and memories I made at Carolina especially over the last year.

4. A new book!
I finished Lauren Kate's Fallen by the other night. It was good but not amazing. For some reason it really dragged on to me. I am going to grab the second book but I don't know if I can finish the series if it doesn't capture me. However, I picked up Jill Mansell's rumor has it and I am LOVING IT! It is a cute British novel and I am only 50 pages into it so we shall see where it goes.

5. Babysitting.
Last night I had the pleasure of taking care of my best friend's little sisters. They are so sweet and adorable and I literally had a blast watching Beauty and the Beast with them last night. They needed to watch it since they are in a theater summer camp and are performing Beauty and the Beast next week. They are going to be adorable plates and villagers in the angry mob of Gaston.

6. The Color Run Running Plan.
No I am not doing the Color Run in Charlotte. Who knows where I will be living in a few months but I found the running plan on Pinterest. As a not so big fan of running I found the plan really simple compared to the Couch-to-5K plans out there. It is easy to remember and you just need a watch. I am on week 2!
