It's Official! CAROLINA GRAD!

Hey y'all,

Sorry I have been MIA, this past weekend I GRADUATED from the University of North Carolina and am now back home while I search for a job (we will see how long that takes) but I am now in full post-grad life. Here are a few pictures from the long and busy weekend.
My Cap before I added pearls on the edges.
Saturday afternoon I spent the afternoon at my major Department graduation, it was a perfect ceremony and definitely was perfect for an English major with three literary readings at the start of the ceremony.
English majors awaiting the Departmental Graduation.
Getting a hug from my favorite professor in the English Department after getting my certificate.
AW & I have worked together over the past 3 years and we have finally graduated!
Some of my favorite English grads and I with my favorite professor Dr. Taylor
Mom and I after the Department Graduation!
Some of the Phi Beta Chi seniors waiting together before Graduation!
Kenan Stadium filled for graduation!
KMH & I after we graduated!
I have been blessed to have this girl as a sister and roommate and will miss her terribly.
Daddy and I after the ceremony!
All in all it was a perfect graduation and I loved Mayor Michael Bloomberg's commencement address especially those things that particularly resonated with Carolina and my experience here. The inclusion of advice based on Carolina basketball was especially perfect for us as graduates. Here is my favorite quote:

“Now, I know you remembered every word of that, but just in case, here’s a summary of the seven, in no particular order: Teamwork is everything. Assist others. Risks are necessary. Hmmmm, the first three letters of those words are T-A-R – I wonder where this is going. Hustle, always. Elbows occasionally have to be used. Education is a lifelong journey. Love what you do. And if you put that list together, it of course spells Tar – heel."

Here is the speech if you are interested:

I can't believe that I am officially an alum of Carolina!!!!! While I have no idea what will happen next in my life post-grad we all know it will be an adventure and I'm excited to see what God has in his plan!

I hope y'all all had wonderful weekends celebrating Mother's Day (I just gave my mom chocolate from Southern Season and of course the present of me graduating) and let's hope I can get back into the groove of blogging now that I am done with the busy things called graduating.

Peace and Blessings (and some Tar Heel love),
jDl

    1. It is pretty great being an English major! :) Steal the idea, the pearls are actually stickers from Michael's scrapbooking section. It was ten times easier than thinking of hot gluing beads to the cap.
