So yesterday when I was avoiding continuing unpacking I logged on to goodreads. I originally created an account last August but had not done much in the way of personalizing and recommending books. However, yesterday I went through and by recommending books by my favorite authors I began to create a pretty extensive bookshelf that reaffirms that my main loves in literature are 19th century British novels, young adult and teen series, chick-lit and finally paranormal romances. The great thing about Good Reads is not only does it track what you have read and gives you suggestions it also allows you to create a to-read shelf. Summer is the perfect time to catch up on some fun reading and now that I am no longer reading literature for my English major I will need some more suggestions on great books for year-round reading. My new to-read list almost has 100 books already and I could always use some more suggestions!
Here are some books that are currently on my to-read list:

How did you get your bookshelf to post like this?! I made a reading list on my blog but nothing as cool as yours... I'm still in the learning stages of big blogging haha
ReplyDeleteWhen you are on goodreads and go to edit your profile there is a tab called widgets then you can customize it to your to-read shelf and then copy the html codes. I hope that helps and I love your "big blog" you will get the hang of it quickly I'm sure!
DeleteI LOVE Good Reads!!! Seriously one of my favorite places to waste time :)
ReplyDeleteIt took a few hours out of my Sunday and now I have to update it after getting 8 books from the library this afternoon!
DeleteAhh, I just made myself a goodreads account earlier this month and cannot stop reading. Now that I can update what I've read it's like a personal competition.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! My goal is 20 books by September and 45 by the end of the year so let's hope all goes well! Good luck in your own personal competition.
